White Pine Ride event returning in September

For the sixth time, the Rotary Club of Cadillac will host the White Pine Ride next month.

The Rotary Club of Cadillac started the event six years ago to celebrate the incredible natural resource the trail is. The ride also raises around $10,000 each year. A total of 60% of those funds are contributed to trail improvements like the picnic shelter that was placed at the East 44 Road launch parking lot.

The remaining funding, 40%, goes to local Rotary charities and club operations. This year, the event will help to support the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Heritage Trail Project. This project includes adding historical markers along the 90-mile-long trail and possibly new signage. It also could include a White Pine Trail historical sculpture near the Cadillac Trailhead.
